The resources behind medicine
Regenerative Economics is where we dive into pharmaceutical materials, energy, circular production, and related industrial research.
We examine how resources enter pharmaceutical production, how they perform during use, and what value can be retained afterwards. The work connects material science and process engineering with the economics of adopting a different approach.
Materials with a defined purpose
A bio-derived material begins to become useful when its performance is understood in a particular application. ZYLON investigates selected pharmaceutical materials and recovery opportunities, including seaweed-derived materials, with attention to reproducibility, processing, and functional requirements.
Energy within the process
Chilling and freezing support demanding pharmaceutical operations. PHARMORIS-ECO examines where predictive approaches might improve their energy performance whilst maintaining the conditions those processes require.
Follow the consequences through
Changing a material or process can alter energy demand, resource use, waste, and cost elsewhere. Our research considers these connected effects alongside the performance of the immediate intervention.
We are interested in technologies that can be explained in terms an industrial adopter can assess: the use case, the comparison, the evidence, and the requirements for the next stage.
