Developing the case for medicines adoption

PHARMORIS-SCOT is a Scottish Enterprise-supported feasibility programme for AI-assisted medicines prioritisation, regulatory dossier preparation, and deployment modelling for NHS generic-medicines adoption.

The programme asks how a potential medicines opportunity can be assessed in enough detail to support the next decision. It connects the evidence behind a case with the conditions required to carry it into practice.

01

Prioritisation

An opportunity needs more than a favourable headline estimate. We are examining how evidence readiness, potential value, local capacity, and implementation requirements can inform the order in which opportunities are considered.

02

Evidence preparation

AI-assisted preparation must help an expert understand and review the underlying material. Our research examines source fidelity, missing information, the propagation of errors, and the effort required to check a dossier.

03

Deployment modelling

A proposed change can have different consequences across settings. Deployment modelling examines assumptions about adoption, expenditure, workload, and delivery constraints so that the case reflects the work required locally.

04

Building on earlier PHARMORIS work

PHARMORIS-SCOT draws on learning from earlier Innovate UK Growth Catalyst-funded PHARMORIS development. The Scottish feasibility work extends the research into prioritisation, evidence preparation, and the practical modelling of adoption.

The value of this continuity is in the questions it allows us to examine more closely: what evidence is ready to use, what needs expert attention, and what a local organisation would need before acting.
